Revitalizing Downtown
The Grand River Station is a joint mixed-use and transit hub developed in partnership by the City of La Crosse and private developers to increase activity and economic development in the historic downtown area.
Meeting Design Challenges
The six-story structure houses an eight-bus transfer station, passenger terminal, 15,000 square foot of retail space, 96 parking stalls, 108,804 square feet of multi-family, and a landscaped/green roof.
To provide the flexibility required of such a diverse space, Clark designed the facility using post-tensioned concrete. To support the parking area on the third floor, the housing areas above the parking, and the green roof, Clark’s engineers designed and detailed large post-tensioned transfer girders.
